Blog Checklist

Here is the text display when the Image not load yet
When I started blogging, I had no idea where to start. Well I have come up with a blog checklist for all of you new bloggers out there. There are many things I left off the list, but these are the most important. Without further ado…here’s the list:

Note: The main focus of your blog should be content. The rest of this blog checklist won’t mean anything for your blog if you don’t have great content.

1. Sign up for a Feedburner account

Although your blog host or software probably provides an RSS feed, chances are that the feed doesn’t track how many readers are subscribing and where they are subscribing from. However, Feedburner can give you access to these types of statistics. It’s free to join and it only takes a minute to get going.

2. Claim your blog on at least these five Blog Directories…they’re free!

3. Get Email RSS Feeds on Feedblitz

If you know a lot of your readers check their email more frequently than your blog, you may want to check out Feedblitz and learn how to allow people to read your new posts via their email.

4. Add your blog to Ping-O-Matic

Ping-O-Matic makes sure to let blog search engines such as Technorati or RSS feeds like Feedburner know that your blog has been updated. So when you add something, a ping will be sent out to update all the directories and feeds that you are a part of.

5. Bookmark your blog on Del.icio.us

This allows others to find your blog and gives you a chance to find what sites and blogs other people are bookmarking most. Obviously you can bookmark or favorite web pages through your browser, but del.icio.us now allows you to do it on the web, and a lot of people are doing it.

6. Try MyBlogLog Tracking

This service allows you to see where people came from to get to your blog and where they went while reading your blog.

7. Add badges from Badged.net

Badged.net allows you to add your favorite social networking badges to your blog or web site. Check it out…it’s fun.
